Garyth Cusack

BSc Physiotherapy, BA Neurosience, MISCP, CORU Reg: PT039306.

I am a CORU registered physiotherapist and a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. My primary degree was in Neuroscience in Trinity College Dublin, after which I spent a number of years working in scientific laboratories. I developed a passion for studying physiotherapy after attending a physiotherapist for a back injury I sustained in my twenties. I qualified as a physiotherapist in 2019 after studying in the Royal College of Surgeons. I achieved a first-class honour for my physiotherapy thesis in the area of chronic pain.

I went on to work in a number of hospital settings as a senior physiotherapist including medical, palliative care and oncology, cardiology, cardiac rehabilitation and cardiothoracic units, emergency departments and a variety of rehabilitation units.

I approach patient care with a combination of holistic care and technical, evidence-based care. I treat the person as a whole, not just their condition and incorporate evidence-based treatments into my care plans. I help the people I work with move towards goals of their choosing that are meaningful and improve quality of life.
